eleven things!
Hey, it's that 11 meme! Also, look a public post! Not that there's been that many non-public ones... >_>
But only five days until classes end, and then thirteen until my finals are over and I get to go home. (My last day of class is Wednesday the 14th, my first final is on Wednesday the 21st, my second/last one is on the 22nd. I shall secretively Christmas shop for my family and arrive home all set for Christmas, in between Doctor Who marathoning with friends!) Christmas party with friends tonight (and we shall watch Tangled since gasp, apparently we are bad friends and not all the people have seen it yet!)!

valiantarcher tagged me... and I tag leaves_lorien and voice_of_aslan. And anyone else that wants to, I guess. :D
Rules:
1.You must post these rules.
2.Each person must post 11 things about themselves in their journal.
3.Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create eleven new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4.You have to choose 11 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5.Go to their page and tell them you have tagged him/her.

6.No tag backs.
7.No stuff in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you are reading this." You legitimately (AKA, really, truly, with all honesty) have to tag 11 people. Whatever, is what I have to say to that.

Valia asked me:
1. What is one thing that makes you happy?
2. Hot tea or ice tea?
3. What is one thing you're looking forward to in the next few months?
4. Have you read or seen anything thought-provoking lately, and, if so, what was it?
5. Are you good at figuring out what gifts to buy for people?
6. Cold gray days or bright sunny ones?
7. Do you go all out with decorating for holidays?
8. Do you have a bucket list and, if so, anything you'd care to share from it?
9. Favourite comfort food?
10. Is there a book, film, or tv show that you're eagerly awaiting the release of, and if so, what is it?
11. Do you like dancing barefoot in the rain?

1. Hugs! Amongst other things, but I am quite fond of hugs and hugging folk.
2. Hot, please! There is something so delightfully soothing and wonderful about it.
3. Is Christmas break too cliche? How about the various reunions I have planned to do over it? I think I've got at least three separate groups of people tentatively planned in, and I think I'm missing some folks.
4. I read Revelation 21 this morning, and verses 3-5 made me think of Christmas. "Now the dwelling of God is with men..."
5. No. No no no no no. Unless I know them super really well, and get hit by a lightning bolt of inspiration, and then maybe.
6. Sunny ones! Though the gray days do have their place, with a hot cup of tea and a blanket and good book/movie! But the sun is so much more happy.
7. Not particularly, though I wish it wasn't a fire hazard to get little Christmas lights for my room. It'd be such a fun way to light up the dark corners. We always get a tree at home and decorate it as a family. My roommate and I currently have squishy gel snowman and Christmas tree window clings up though. :D
8. Eh, not really. I'd like to travel to a different continent somehow sometime though.
9. I waffle between hearty home-cooked foods and sweet things. Contenders include potato soup, ice cream, fresh bread, fruit, and chocolate.
10. The BBC's Sherlock coming back on January 1st!!!
11. Yes I do! I don't do it often enough, but it's so much fun!

Eleven questions from me!
1. Do you have snow yet/are you excited about it?
2. What is your favorite color? Any specific shade/tint/tone of it that you particularly love?
3. Do you prefer pens or pencils? How about crayons, markers, or paint?
4. Where is the farthest you've been from home and for how long?
5. What is/are your favorite book(s)?
6. What is your favorite Christmas song?
7. Do you like listening to music while studying/working? If so, what kind?
8. Have you ever played an instrument? Which one and for how long?
9. Do you like going on long walks?
10. Dinosaurs or unicorns?
11. Can you do a convincing accent (any kind)?

*waves hello* Nice to 'see' you again!

1. Do you have snow yet/are you excited about it? Still waiting for some real snow that'll stick around. :(
2. What is your favorite color? Any specific shade/tint/tone of it that you particularly love? Midnight blue
3. Do you prefer pens or pencils? How about crayons, markers, or paint? In order of preference: pencils, pens, markers, crayons, paint
4. Where is the farthest you've been from home and for how long? 17 hours give or take? That trip was about five days, so not so far and not so long, I'd say.
5. What is/are your favorite book(s)? Ladycake Farm, Anne of the Island, The Perilous Gard, the Lord of the Rings and The Queen's Thief series among others...
6. What is your favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night by Josh Groban
7. Do you like listening to music while studying/working? If so, what kind? Soundtrack and classical, classical inspired pretty much covers it
8. Have you ever played an instrument? Which one and for how long? I play piano and violin, and I think I can say I've been playing the piano for fifteen years, which makes me feel like maybe I ought to be better at it than I am, but not bad enough to actually, you know, practice...
9. Do you like going on long walks? Yep, if the weather is just right!
10. Dinosaurs or unicorns? Unicorns, though lately I've been dreaming about dinosaurs. But they've all been the type that want to chomp people XD
11. Can you do a convincing accent (any kind)? I'd certainly like to think so; but I haven't any way of judging that objectively.

Hi! Good to "see" you too! :)

1. I don't know about you, but we finally got a decent amount of snow that's sorta stuck on New Year's (happy New Year, btw!), but you can still see grass sticking up in places! Good to know my area isn't the only one suffering from a dearth of snow! Misery loves company. ;)
5. I've been meaning to check out The Perilous Gard for a while now, seeing it recommended around the Books Thread (which I have not gone near for months now, sadly!). I may need to move it up my list! :)
6. MINE TOO! :D
11. Mm, I know what you mean! I've had people tell me my British accent sounds pretty good, but I'd never do it around a person who actually had that accent for fear of mocking them. Not that I know anyone with one. :P

Thanks for answering! :)

Hope your finals go well! :) And are you marathoning any particular DW episodes/seasons?
Haha...have fun watching Tangled with everyone! :D

Thanks for answering this meme! :)
Christmas break may be cliche, but it's honest and extremely logical. ;)
Oh, I would totally have answered #5 the same way---and I now have about 6 shopping days left until Christmas and have not gotten anyone presents yet. :P
Ooh, yes! It'll be fun to see Sherlock when it comes back. I think it's airing on PBS a bit later, though, so I won't get a chance to see it right off. :)

Thanks, I think they went pretty well! How about yours? We actually never got around to it, sadly! But we'd been planning to watch seasons 1 onward to as far as we got. My friend will just have to watch it alone on her Netflix over break, but she tells me that shan't be too difficult. ;)

How's your break going? Did you succeed in your Christmas shopping challenge?
Yeah, I'll have to wait a while to actually see Sherlock too. But at least it's back now. :D Oh, and I have a new answer now: THE HOBBIT. I am torn between wishing a year of my life away and settling down to wait for something that cannot possibly be other than very good. Even if it's not letter from the page by the book, it'll undoubtedly still be a good movie.

Mine went pretty well, thanks for asking. :)
Aww, too bad! :( But that's understandable. I actually just started watching Series 6 this past week or two---I wasn't really marathoning it (which, eh, is kind of evident in the fact that I'm only about 11 minutes into the eighth episode), but it'll go even slower now that school is starting back up. Ah, well. At least I'm mostly past the stuff that got spoiled for me, and I'm not so anxious to finish the series that I can't wait a bit (Also, got sidetracked by finally having time to watch Once Upon a Time, which is very fun).

Hehe...Well, break is over now, and I didn't do half of the things I wanted to. :P But I got the vital stuff done---grad school applications, present shopping (more-or-less...), and textbook buying (sort of...)---and will have to just cram in the other stuff whenever I get the chance. So, I sort of succeeded in my Christmas shopping. ;) How'd your break go? :)
Very true! :) Hehehe, I know what you mean---I can't wait until it's out! Until I think about the fact that, Lord willing, I will have graduated and be done with my first semester of grad school and then I feel like I can wait because I'm not ready for that yet. ;))

Ha, I cannot fault for not seeing all of Series 6; I finally finished it yesterday! This season has been harder to be excited about for some reason; it's getting almost too in love with cooking up wildly crazy situations and having them work out anyway. It was still pretty good though. :) And yay for Once Upon a Time! I love fairy tale retellings, and it has such an interesting spin on everything! :)

Aw, that's too bad! At least you got done stuff you needed to get done (some, anyways). Do you think you have a crazy semester ahead of you (besides, you know, graduating and stuff)? My break's been good! I still have a week! :D I had a final on the 22nd, so I finished later too, don't get too jealous of my "longer" break. It's been nice to not do much of anything, but now that I've only got a week left, I need to get cracking on a few things!
Ah, there is that (yikes that sounds terrifyingly grown-up), and that's another reason I'm okay with not speeding time up; it goes too fast already! I don't know about you, but 2011 was the fastest year I have ever experienced. I really hope 2012 goes a leetle slower so I can kinda sorta enjoy life rather than have it whoosh by.
ValiantArcher: OUaTvaliantarcher on January 12th, 2012 02:53 am (UTC)
Oh, really? That makes me feel tons better. ;)) Yeah, that makes sense---it's all felt rather heavy/dark, too. I think, too, part of my problem was that they built up to this huge reveal at the end of the first half and afterwards, I pretty much went, "That's awful... I don't think there's really a happy side to this" instead of any sort of happy/excited reaction (it didn't help that it got spoilered for me, either, I guess). And then it seems like the writers are almost acting like it's unimportant in the next episode... *sighs* Ah, well. I guess I just need to finish the series and then see how they explain/wrap everything up. ;))
Yeah, considering how most of my fandoms have really gone by the wayside for school, I shouldn't have started a new show. :P But, I'm pretty happy I did. ;) I love how they tie the fairy-tale and real-world stories together, and they seem to be balancing things together pretty well (I did think that "The Shepherd" was actually sadder than "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" but that may've been because I heard people say the latter was sad, so I kind of knew where it was going...my sister disagrees, though).

It'll depend---I'm only taking 12 hours, but 10 of them are senior-level engineering courses and they could be very heavy. However, my Self-Defense course looks to be pretty fun. :D
*tries not to grumble* Well, it's not like I've really been that hard at work so far---no homework assignments yet, and only two chapters of reading. :P The worst thing has been trying to sort out teams and projects for senior design (rather stressful for me...). Hope you get everything done that you need to! :)
Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I have a feeling the next four months, while sometimes feeling incredibly slow, will really fly by. *sniffles* I'm not ready! *sobs* ;) (On the other hand, my sister and I just rewatched the Hobbit trailer and it was still lovely. My sister said the song gets her every time...and I think it does me too.)
